Online Latin Dance Lessons
Hey guys I wanted to share with you the 3 most common questions students ask me before learning how to dance salsa...
So here they are:
1. What if I have two left feet?
We firmly believe that everyone is able to learn how to dance, and this has been proven time after time again.
Rhythm is a skill you develop over time, not something you are necessarily born with (despite the myth).
Our teaching methodology works on anyone regardless of your background, whether you grew up with latin music or if you’ve tried other dance schools that were not able to teach you.
The most important thing you have to have commitment and the willingness to learn…the rest just leave it up to us!
2. I can’t hear the beat. Am I hopeless?
This is actually a very common problem for beginner and even intermediate students.
Learning to hear the beat, and maintaining rhythm is a skill that you can learn and practice in order to be good at it.
At first, when you start listening to salsa music, it might seem very complicated…
All our students say the same thing at the beginning.
All you need a teacher to show how!
3. How long is it going to take me to learn how to dance salsa?
It depends on who's teaching you? : D
Everyone is different, in how fast people learn how to dance.
People come in with different amounts of talent and dance experience, so it would be difficult to say how long it'll take you individually to learn how to dance salsa...
Another factor to consider is how much you're willing to practice on your own, and how much time you can dedicate to learning!
With all of that being said we have noticed that there are is a pattern among the beginner students who learn how to dance salsa really quickly.
So, what is it?
The beginner salsa crash course
Over the years of teaching we have noticed that there has always been students who progress in their salsa journey really quickly...
Not necessarily because they come in with a lot of talent, but because of their method for learning.
Let me tell you a little story...
Do you remember when you were learning a foreing language in highschool?
You spent a whole year learning a lot of complicated grammar and sentence structure that you never used...
Plus, at the end of the year, you were not able to speak the language...
That's because you didn't focus on the things that are going to give you results, rather they made you learn a lot of useless information, and at the end you just end up feeling overwhelmed.
I've noticed that the students who progress in salsa dancing quickly, and are able to get out on the dance floor in the fastest amount of time, are people who stick to what works...
They stick to and master the 6 step formula...
And as a result they are able to progress, and get out on the dance floor really fast.
